RAWALPINDI: The crackdown
against kite flyers continued as
police on Saturday arrested at least seven people in Rawalpindi.
The arrests were
made because of violation of orders
against kite flying.
Despite the ban on kite flying, some people still manufactured and flew kites, disobeying the law.
Crackdowns were started because cases of injuries caused by
kite strings were reported. At least 5000 kites have been confiscated and cases have been registered
against the arrested.
Police also seized around 4000 kites,
rolls and strings.
